Wood Storage Shed Plans

I remember how it felt after I bought my first home, finally I was going to have all the storage space I needed! Or so I thought! After living in cramped quarters it was nice to have a big two car garage and three bedrooms with all the extra cabinets and closet space!

However it wasn’t long before all that extra space was filled up because it is human nature to accumulate stuff, also the bigger the house and property the more tools and equipment you need to maintain it, another thing I soon found out.

 What to do about it.

If you have reached that stage where you have run out of room and need extra space you may consider a storage shed or an extra backyard building. You could do what I did and start looking at the cheap metal sheds but it did not take long to realize that cheap was not the way to go unless you have cheap equipment or tools you don’t really care about.

 What do you need to consider?

Regardless of the type of shed you are going to purchase or build it needs a good foundation under it. Do you want rain water running in underneath? No! Do you want to risk the wind blowing it into the neighbor’s yard? No! It is important that you start with a solid foundation and if that is the case why invest in a good foundation only to place a cheap structure on it?

 What are your options?

Your options are to have a contractor build your new storage shed or you could purchase a do it yourself kit and do the assembly or you could get a set of shed plans and build it yourself. Of course there are advantages and disadvantages that you have to qualify for your own situation.
